Overview

Jev is a decision model by TypeSafe. It is not a chat model: instead of generating text, it answers typed questions about an input with calibrated probabilities, in well under a second. Use it in your apps for classification, routing, triage, moderation and scoring. The Jev connector works in one of three ways, depending on the API key you give it:
Published apps use the connector’s key. If you publish a Workshop app that uses this connector, visitors make requests using it — billed to your Workshop credits, or to your OpenRouter or TypeSafe account.

Connecting to Workshop

Open the Hub

Open the Workshop Hub from the sidebar.

Go to Connectors

Click the Connectors tab.

Select Jev

Click the Jev card.

Enter details

Enter a Connection Name (e.g., “My Jev”). Leave API Key empty to use Workshop credits, or paste an OpenRouter or TypeSafe API key.

Save

Click Add Connection.
Your Jev connection is now active and available across all conversations. When you leave the key empty, Workshop creates a Workshop API key for the connection. Deleting the connection, or switching it to your own key, revokes that key.

Verifying Your Connection

Ask Workshop:
If the app returns a spam probability for each email, your connection is working.

How Jev Answers

Each request sends an input (the state) and one or more named questions. There are three question types: Workshop’s agent knows how to write these requests; describe the decision you want in plain language.
